HF ! Help Fight for safe and sane HF (Hydrofluoric Acid) and MHF (modified HF) restrictions.  The massive February 2015 ExxonMobil Torrance Refinery explosion spread hazardous dust over miles.

  

Subsequently disclosed: an 80,000 pound chunk flew 100 feet, narrowly missing their HF storage tank, which could have created an HF cloud killing 20,000+ and injuring 200,000+.  That's you and me!

  

A Torrance catastrophe rivaling Fukushima, Bhopal, and Chernobyl.  Not Safe.  Not Sane.  This sword now hangs over every Torrance resident.

  

I will bring scientific and technical expertise to help the Torrance City Council to better evaluate risks from large-scale HF operations near Torrance homes.

Fighting to Preserve Torrance Quality of Life:

  

Led Citizen's group to prevent 75 oil wells in Bishop Montgomery Sump.

Result:  Project Withdrawn.

  

Opposed replacing Jefferson Middle School with a Criminal Rehabilitation Center.

Results:  Center Relocated.  Jefferson Reopened.

  

Challenged EPA permit to allow Dow Chemical to burn heavy metal contaminated solvents in Torrance, potentially releasing Dioxin (Agent Orange poison).  EPA added Dioxin monitoring, decreasing many permitted contaminants 99+%.

Result:  Project Canceled.
